On-site Survey Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities Description:

  • Prepare maps and drawings from survey field data to include: plats, boundary surveys, topographic maps, and as-built surveys
  • Prepare TINs, surface models, and contours from field data
  • Reduce field notes and check reductions and calculations made by others
  • Post-process static GPS data or submit to OPUS
  • Calculate and prepare files for use by survey crews for construction stakeout
  • Process and incorporate drone photogrammetry into survey maps and drawings

Job Duties and Responsibilities Description:

  • Design projects for parks, open spaces, campus and urban environments, and municipal spaces
  • Prepare construction documents, 3-D modeling, and other presentation material,
  • Render and produce presentation graphics 
  • Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and document sets and work with senior designers on a collaborative team
  • Prepare CAD based-plans

  • Manage and supervise the civil design personnel with regard to site layout, design, and
    engineering calculations
  • Prepare site design drawings including demolition plans, site dimensioning and pavement plans, grading plans, erosion control plans, and utility plans
  • Coordinate with AHJs during design to obtain approval
  • Prepare requisite design calculations and reports
  • Meet and communicate with owners, clients, consultants, and agencies to produce a
    comprehensive and coordinated construction document package
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers to create design plans in accordance with the design schedule such that contractors can build the project, including ensuring all aspects of the design will function as intended
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with the client/owner, design team, and contractor and professionally represent the company
  • Perform quality control and safety assurance, oversee projects from start to finish to ensure construction standards and safety are maintained, includes assessing potential risks, materials, and costs, and providing technical advice to address construction challenges
  • Ensure that projects comply with legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements, including staying up-to-date on changing zoning laws and regulations
  • Design infrastructure improvements in accordance with regulations and to best serve the project and owner’s needs

Job Duties and Responsibilities Description:

  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary and supportive team of landscape architects, planners and others, to provide management on a wide variety of public and private landscape architectural projects 
  • Project emphasis includes park, recreation and trail planning and design, urban park, plaza, streetscape and transportation enhancements, land development, and support for large scale planning projects
  • Manage and supervise the other landscape architects’ work
  • Create drawings and designs for public spaces, gardens, residential areas, playgrounds, and college campuses using computer-aided design programs
  • Complete documentation, including being able to lay out and detail all hardscape materials, produce grading plans, produce planting plans, produce demolition plans, produce tree protection plans, and to prepare specifications for all work overseen by you
  • Plan the locations of buildings, roads, walkways, planting, and irrigation
  • Discuss requirements with clients, keep them informed of progress, and present proposals for approval

  • Perform computer-aided design and contract plan development using Autodesk AutoCAD software
  • Projects and tasks may include geometric layout, environmental permitting support, utility/energy, concept design plans, pedestrian and bicycle facility projects
  • Follow company and/or client CAD standards

  • Manage and coordinate the survey personnel and the data that is collected from the field
